ED CUBITT - Instrumentalist

Ed Cubitt is a jazz musician, pedagogue, band leader and multi-instrumentalist.
Starting with the Tenor Sax at the age of 7, Ed has professional performance and recording experience on Saxes, Flute, Trombone, Trumpet, Guitar, Bass, Melodica and Violin.
Ed graduated from London Centre for Contemporary Music in 2014 with a 2.1 BMus Performance on the Tenor Saxophone, studying under leading U.K musicians and educators, including saxophonist Dave O'Higgins, Trumpet player and band leader Sid Gould, and educator Will Green. Since then, he has been teaching, performing and recording around London, the U.K, and Europe with original and function groups, with Sax and Horn section recordings, played on David Rodigan's Sunday Drop on BBC Radio 1Extra in 2022.
Teaching is central to Ed's music practice, and he has created a music method centred on learning through play, composition and communication. Combining the flow-state music approach of Kenny Werner's 'Effortless Mastery' method with Ed's own research into neuro-cognition in music (with help from Goldsmith's University Neuroscience Department), Ed's Method aims to turn to learn music into a multi-player multi-sensory puzzle game that is intuitive, fun and rewarding at all levels and on all instruments.
