MEET OUR YOUNG AMBASSADORS

Our ambassadors at More Than Able (MTA) are a dynamic team of volunteers aged 11–25 years. They work together to tackle youth barriers within society, engage with policymakers, support Music Relief Foundation (MRF) to represent the voices of young people and improve the disconnect and communication between young people and relevant stakeholders (e.g parents, teachers, communities and council representatives).

Nia (24)

She/Her

As an ambassador, I am taking on big responsibilities, and can improve my soft skills by being approachable and conducting myself accordingly.

Nia, who has been with MRF since she was 15. She is now studying social work at university and is also the choir leader at MRF.

Joshua (20)

He/Him

I like working with MRF because you get to experience and go to places that many of my peers are not able to access at our age. I especially love it because of all the skills I am developing that will further enhance my CV and job prospects.

Joshua’s hobbies include rugby, football, sleeping and playing PS4. He has been with MRF since he was 13 years old. Joshua is now studying Civil Engineering at University and helps during MRF’s summer holiday club.

Kai (19)

He/Him

I would like to work within the music industry when I grow up as an artist or producer. I am keen to develop my mixing skills even further. I became an ambassador and have grown as an individual and within the organisation.

Kai enjoys playing basketball, writing songs and has grand ambitions of working in the music industry. He has been with MRF since he was 11 years old. Kai is actively pursuing his music career and is establishing himself as a recording artist

Brianna (18)

She/Her

I always knew what I wanted in life but never knew if I was ever going in the right direction and at the same time felt like I was just skimming through life and missing out on things I was supposed to do at my age. Joining MRF has given me the chance to do just that: working with people of all ages and helping them reach their full potential while also helping me understand who I am and who I want to become.

Brianna has been with MRF since she was 16 when she came for work experience from her college. She is now one of our youth workers who coordinates and delivers our holiday programmes.

Maryam (18)

He/Him

Working with MRF betters me and allows me to get experience working with children. I do not only see MRF as an organisation but as a family and a safe space for everyone. MRF’s primary purpose is to aid those in need.

Maryam has been with MRF since she was 16, when she was introduced to us by Brianna. She is now one of our youth workers who coordinates and delivers our holiday programmes.

More Than Able (MTA) Leadership Academy

The More Than Able (MTA) Leadership Academy is a youth leadership programme that provides both prevention and intervention support. The MTA programme works with children, schools and families to help reduce behaviours that lead to exclusion. It also promotes and teaches leadership values, such as service, duty and selflessness.
